DEO GLORIA

DEO GLORIA

social stratergy

Deo Gloria is A lovely coffee shop based in the heart of devon, and is THE only place in Newton Abbot that sells speciality coffee.

Their socials where being organised by one of the managers in which she created a great base and path to follow as a creative, so as she left, I was pulled in to take the reins and continue posting content to the level they had done before.

Deo Gloria is quite new on the highstreet, 1-2 years old so their main focus is trying to hone in an “identity”, and they wanted us to subtly launch this identity through their social medias, the thought process being, if they liked how the social medias looked using the direction I was going in, it would be much easier to nail down an established “Look” for the business, as Deo Gloria is the beggining of what is soon to be a chain! so there needs to be a clear level of consitency to the company.

INSTAGRAM POSTS

keeping it simple

I wanted there to be something that would break the pattern of just having the instagram looking like a cluttered camera roll that was just filled with great food, although it worked and looked good, it was quite overstimulating at first glance. So to strip things back without taking away the vibe, all I did was put a white border around the images, not only did this quite literally seperate the images from the rest, but it also made them stand out, meaning that these posts could either be there to break the feed up, or signal importance.

To take it a step further, to really add some life into the page, I wanted to incorperate some composition, and text. Spacing and text is crucial when it comes to brand Identification so it was key to try and establish this in one way or another.

THE FEED

The rest of thee feed was then filled with other images and examples like these, some just photographs, some statement posts… all photographed by us.

Me make sure to keep a close eye on colours, saturation, and compostioning for photos, to keep the feed as fluid as possible.

THE SITE (IN THE WORKS)

The instagram was a good place to set a solid ground for the business, but to truly let its personality flow, the best place to display this is always a website. Instagram is for quick viewing, on what you want to see, so we kept it pretty, and filled with good looking coffee and tasty food, whereas to contrast that, someone lands on the website through searching and curiosity, which means the second they click on that link they need to be wowed, through aestehtics and personality.

The coffee shop did have one colour it was set on, and that was green, its earthy, relatable, urban, and clean, it was the colour of their uniforms! So with that in mind, with the vibe so far being, green, and minmal, I wanted to make the website display that in the most instructive, and visually constructed way.

Bold but sharp fonts, smooth colours and corners, and a flat texture mixed with browns and midtones, not only makes the website a pleasure for your eyes to scan through, but it represents the personality of Deo Gloria, and the vibe the coffee shop gives off. It’s calm, friendly, familliar, and warm. All of this will then be elveated through subtle movement throughout the site, and animations that flow and loop everything together.

The website is in the works due to funding and time restraints… but hopefully getting the site up and going by the start of 2026… stay tuned.
